Gujju Khan Medical College, training workshop on artificial intelligence

The faculty and students of GIKI will be provided training in basic medical statistics.


Peshawar. (Bureau Report) A five-day training workshop of Gujju Khan Medical College Swabi on the use of artificial intelligence in the field of health and research concluded at Ghulam Ishaq Khan University. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the two institutions, under which they will cooperate with each other in research and training.


Swabi: A five-day artificial intelligence training workshop of Gujju Khan Medical College, Swabi, concluded at Ghulam Ishaq Khan University, in which more than 50 doctors, faculty members, consultants, students, and administrative officers of Gujju Khan Medical College were trained on the benefits and uses of artificial intelligence in health and research. The aim of this training workshop was to make the participants aware of the methods and benefits of using artificial intelligence in the health and research departments.



The training was provided under the supervision of expert faculty of Ghulam Ishaq Khan University. The first two days of the five-day training workshop were held at Gujju Khan Medical College, and the remaining three days were at GIKI. According to the spokesperson, the training program was divided into different parts, in which the participants were given practical training on the use of artificial intelligence in the medical sector, such as imaging, diagnostics, and software development.


Addressing the closing ceremony, GIKI Rector Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmed Khalid, Dean and Chief Executive Prof. Dr. Shams-ur-Rehman, and senior faculty members of GKMC emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector has become inevitable in the modern era, through which the healthcare sector can further develop.


On this occasion, Dean and Chief Executive and Rector GIKI also signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, under which joint research, training programs, and workshops will be organized in the future. The rector of GIKI assured full cooperation and stressed further strengthening the relationship between the two institutions. He also appreciated the active participation of consultants in the training workshop. The dean and chief executive of Gaju Khan Medical College said that training in basic medical statistics will be provided to the faculty and students of GIKI.
